A study by Dr Vini Khurana, a respected cancer expert, suggests that mobile phones could end up killing more people than smoking or asbestos, the Independent on Sunday has reported.
By looking at evidence of long-term mobile phone use, Khurana concluded that using handsets for 10 years or more can double the risk of some brain cancers, which may themselves take a decade to develop.
He told the paper that he believes the link between mobile phones and cancer will be ‘definitively proven’ in the next decade, and that there is already ‘a significant and increasing body of evidence’ to suggest a connection.
