Warriors of Qiugang: how one Chinese 'cancer village' rose up

|
Watch the trailer for the Oscar-nominated film documenting how Chinese villagers challenged a powerful chemical company over pesticides and dye-factory pollution

Villagers in central China take on a chemical company that is poisoning their land and water. For five years they fight to transform their environment and as they do, they find themselves transformed as well. The 40-minute documentary powerfully charts the shocking impact of pesticides and dye factories on this typical Chinese village. The filmmakers behind the piece - Ruby Yang and Thomas Lennon - have been shortlisted for the best short documentary Oscar this year.
