Cotton is used for 50% of all our textile needs. Portrayed as 'clean and natural' in advertising, one quarter of ALL farming pesticides are used in the manufacture of cotton, making it a hazard to farm workers' health and a major source of water waste.
Write a letter to your favourite brands and shops telling them you love their things and have bought plenty in the past, but in three years' time you want all the cotton you buy from them to be organic and the sooner they do it, the sooner you will be happy to shop there again.
